The first ever Kynetx Impact Conference was packed with compelling presentations, discussions, networking, delicious food and great coffee--all for a capacity audience. Heavy-hitters like Kim Cameron, Doc Searls, Craig Burton, Tim Christin and Phil Windley presented some of the most cutting edge information in technology today.

Day One:

Kynetx Impact Version 1.0 began with a bang! Doc Searls gave a speech on “What happens when users take control.”





Dr. Phil Windley spoke about “The Forgotten Edge” of the internet and how ubiquity and context are the next big shift in how the internet is used. Phil also debuted two new PSA’s starring Simon, the IT Dummy that described worst practices about how NOT to provide a contextual shopping experience, or a cross-site, context-sensitive app.

Day Two:

Kim Cameron, Chief Identity Architect of Microsoft, spoke about user-centric identity in the client-side revolution and the shift to personalized control of identity.



Tim Christin, Sr. Vice President at Acxiom Corp., spoke about tipping old data models on their ear. By giving individuals control over the data that is shared, it increases the quality of the data and opens up new business models.

Doc Searls, Senior Editor of Linux Journal, co-author of The Cluetrain Manifesto, holds fellowships with both the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University and the Center for Information Technology and Society at the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Doc's Topic:  "The Intention Economy: What happens When Customers Get Real Power?"


Kim Cameron is the Chief Architect of Identity at Microsoft where he works to drive the emergence of privacy enhancing technology and to make it pervasive across industries, countries and cultures.  Cameron publishes his insights, including his renowned "Laws of Identity," at IdentityBlog.com.

Kim's Topic: "User-Centric Identity in the Client-Side Revolution"

Dr. Phil Windley, Founder and CTO of Kynetx, Inc., Dr. Windley is a frequent author and speaker on digital identity, web architectures, web services, and interoperability. He writes the popular Technometria blog and is the author of the book Digital Identity. Windley is also an Executive Producer of IT Conversations, a popular network of technology podcasts.

Phil's Topic:  "The Forgotten Edge: Creating a Purpose-Centric Web."

Craig Burton

Craig Burton is a co-founder of Novell where he served as Senior Vice President of corporate marketing and development.  In 1989, he co-founded the technology analysis and consulting company, The Burton Group where he served as CEO and principal analyst.  Craig currently speaks, advises and consults with technology companies around the world, specializing in the Internet Services Model and software infrastructure sales and marketing.

Craig's Topic:  "Content is Dead. Context is King."
